Prasar Bharati Archives presents AIR Archives Radio Autobiography of Kidar Sharma (1923-2018).

Sen is one of his nation’s most politically active filmakers. Sen worked as a freelance journalist, a salesman of patent medicines and a sound technician in a film studio.

Mrinal Sen never stopped experimenting with his medium. In his later films he tried to move away from the narrative structure and worked with very thin story lines. After a long gap of eight years, at the age of eighty, he made his latest film, Aamar Bhuban, in 2003. By the 1980s Sen was a national figure and was regarded as one of India’s most important filmmakers.
